Having used Photo Filtre for years I'd like to stick with something that handles pretty much the same way rather than having to re learn a whole different program. I'm getting back into photography after many years, have busted my brains making the transition from 35mm film to digital, and processing images is a big part of the hobby.īeing a little slow on tech skills I'm not about to start editing any software.Ībout all I can manage is downloading and installing it - then the challenge is figuring out how to use it. In the mean time, can anyone recommend a decent LX GE package that an intellectually diminishing and techno - challenged old phart can puzzle out how to use? Other users would no doubt find this program to be as intuitive and useful as I do, and I won't have to go down cellar and fire up my old Compaq XP back up box in order to process my images or create graphics. Yearning to be able to use it on LINUX Mint 17 Cin., I ran a search turns out they are working on a LINUX distro but could use some help:Ĭould someone here PLEASE see what you can do to make this a reality? As stupid as I might be, I can figure out how to use it and get the job done.

Prior to leaving Windows for LINUX I used a freeware program called "Photo Filtre" out of France for years, and it does everything I need a GE utility to do it may not be Photoshop, but the price is right and it works for me. Then installed ftoxx Looks impressive and I was able to get it to open my files, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to simply select an area and crop it.

Maybe I'm just too stupid to use that program I don't know but I have little patience with programs that I can't get to work. Tried mtPaint GE in which I could not even find my chip with the images on it. I just opened GIMP to work with some pictures I just took with my digital camera, and found it completely unmanagable, so went to SWM to see what else was out there.
